Purchasing Hayward Cartridge Pool Filters
If you decide to purchase a Hayward cartridge filter you will be purchasing one of the easiest pool filters to run and maintain. Hayward cartridge filters come in three models for both above ground pool and in-ground pools and can handle the largest of swimming pools down to the smallest of ponds, perfect for your application.
Hayward cartridge filters work by water being forced through cartridge material that usually features anti-microbial technology that essentially prevents mold and fungus from growing on the filter material. A couple advantages over sand filters include cartridge filters provide more filtration area meaning you can run more water through a cartridge filter vs. a sand filters. Also, cartridge filters are designed to run at a lower pressure vs. sand filters thus relieving the strain on your pump and allowing your equipment to last longer.
Cleaning a Hayward cartridge filter is a very simple process and will prolong the life of your filter. Basically you remove the cartridge elements from inside your filter and wash them with a standard garden hose. It is recommended to clean your filters every 6 months and if needed replace them every year.
