These chlorine tablets are stabilized to protect your chlorine from ultraviolet rays of the sun which will prolong the life of your chlorine. The use of Trichlor in pools will reduce the total alkalinity and require the addition of Sodium Bicarbonate aka Alkalinity Booster.
